As the holiday season quickly approaches we look to the welfare of those less fortunate than us and ask the question what can we do to help. Instilling a sense of service to our community and charity in our youth is an important goal of the Scouting movement. As such 1st Milton Group will be providing assistance to the Salvation Army with their annual food and toy drive.
On Saturday, December 3 between 9:00am and 12:00pm, 1st Milton Group will be stationed at Canadian Tire on Steeles Ave in Milton.
When you go into the store you will be asked to take a paper bag, do you shopping as you normally would but pick up a few extras. Place those items in the paper bag you have been given and then hand them back to us on the way out. The Milton Fire Department will come by and collect all of the donated items.
Whether you bump into our group, or one of the many other service organizations who will be out on Saturday helping with this event we hope that you will take some time to help out those less fortunate at this time of great need.
