100+ Years of History
Established in 1924 as the 1st Milton Scout Troop, the Group first expanded in 1935 with the addition of a Cub Scout section. Re-established as the 1st Milton Scouts Group we have continued to grow ever since and now are the longest running Scouting group in Milton, Ontario. During the 2024/2025 Scouting season we proudly celebrated our 100 year anniversary. 1st Milton Scouts Group is a part of the Central Escarpment Council.
Modern day recognition of our program and contribution to the Milton Community
We are an active member in our community and participate in many events around town. We deliver a quality program to our youth based on Scouts Canada’s mission and values. Our program is fun, engaging and full of outdoor adventures. During our 100th Anniversary our program was recognized by the Mayor of the Town of Milton and the then Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau for making a difference in our community and having a positive impact in the lives of our youth by teaching important skills and values.
Group structure
Our group currently consists of close to 100 youth members spread over 6 co-ed sections in the age groups 4-5 (Chipmunks), 5-7 (Beavers), 8-10 (Cubs), and 11-14 (Scouts). The program is delivered by an enthusiastic team of about 25 volunteer Scouters. The group as a whole is guided by a Group Committee consisting of Group Commissioners, a Registrar, a Treasurer, a Program Quality Coordinator, a Fundraising Coordinator and Quartermaster.
