The 1st Milton Cub Scouts slept over at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum!
We had a great time learning about the planes, and the role that Canada, and the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) played during wartime. The Cubs did many experiments to learn about the science of flight including making our own gliders and hot air balloons.
The highlight of the night was getting the chance to sleep under the planes. This was a unique adventure that the Cubs loved and will remember for years to come. We also had a great time linking with the other Cub Packs, and Guide Troops who were there to sleep over as well.
Our timing was perfect, as our sleepover was the weekend of the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Though the museum is mainly focused on World War II, we did hear stories and learn about the Canadian forces victory in this decisive World War I battle. Being at the Warplane Museum for the Anniversary of Vimy ridge was the icing on the top of the cake to this adventure.
